Unbelievably in Britain there is still no compulsory training to use a powerboat. Anyone can simply buy a boat and use it.

Here at APL Marine we strongly recommend regular training in the safe handling of your boat. This can prove useful for even the most seasoned boat user, and make you safer, more alert and allow you to have more fun out on the water.

Having a certificate in competancy can also lower your insurance costs, and some council run slipways will now not let you launch unless you can produce a certificate of competency in boat handling.
